Dear Church,
I hope this beautiful fall day brings a smile to your face. We are now halfway through our 40 days of prayer, focusing on our breakthrough prayer to open us to the dreams and vision that God has for the Church of the Master. This is part of the Leadership Council’s visioning process. I’m incredibly grateful for your response and for the many of you who have been participating—whether through prayer, submitting prayer requests, studying, or prayer walking. Our last prayer walking session took place last Tuesday, and that concludes it for this season. So there will be no prayer walk tonight. Let’s continue to pray and remain hopeful!
As part of our visioning, we are working with Church of the Messiah to better serve our community. A survey has been created to help us understand the needs of those around us, rather than making assumptions. I encourage you to share this survey link with your friends, neighbors, and others in the community. Feel free to post it on social media or repost the link from the church's Facebook page. Here is the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2024Westerville. Thank you for helping us better serve our community!
Children’s Sabbath will be held on Sunday, October 20th, at 10 a.m. Please join us for a combined worship service, where our children will lead the worship. Mark your calendars now for this special Sunday!
Today, my thoughts and prayers are with those in the path of Hurricane Milton. It follows so closely after the devastation left by Hurricane Helene, which caused significant damage. Please join me in praying for those bracing for Hurricane Milton, as well as those still recovering from Hurricane Helene.
If you feel led to help our neighbors impacted by Hurricane Helene, you can contribute to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) through the "Donate to UMCOR" button below, or you may write a check with "UMCOR Helene" in the memo line and place it in the offering plate.
On another note, Josh and I are heading off on vacation today. Pastor Lucy will lead worship and deliver the sermon on Sunday, October 13th.
Wishing you a peaceful and blessed week ahead. May the God of all hope fill you with peace and joy!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Katya
