Dear Church,
I pause my seemingly unproductive process of coming up with our new sermon series about prayer for September and October. I find myself going back and forth between themes and scriptures, getting lost and overwhelmed by ideas, trying to find a way/a thread/a flow. I find myself struggling today. Maybe you have been struggling with something today or this week as well, in your relationships with your loved ones, yourself, or even God. Know that you are not alone in your struggle. In our struggles may we remember that God is present and loving even though it does not feel so. Receive this blessing from a book of blessings for shadow times Silver Linings by Maxine Shonk.
As we move together into September, we are excited for so many ways to grow, love, and serve. Below are some of the upcoming ways to continued to deepen our walk with God:
We are excited about the End of Summer Picnic! It will be on Sunday, September 8th, from 4 pm-7 pm on the front patio. Join us for food, lawn games, and fellowship. Bring a dish and invite your friends and family—everyone is welcome! Sign up here.
Supper Club: Would you like to participate in a small group to gather around the table for food, fellowship, and conversation? We would like to help you form your group and then you take it from there. Friends host at different places: at homes, at restaurants, in the park, wherever you would like. If you are interested respond to this email.
The Elsie Mackenzie Memorial Scramble for Missions, Saturday September 14 at Arrowhead Lakes Golf Course. Check in between 8:15— 8:45am and the first group tee off at 9am. This is a nine hole, co-ed golf outing in scramble format. Help our United Women in Faith raise funds that support Women, Children and Youth here and around the world! You can also participate by being a Hole Sponsor for $15 or come join us for lunch afterwards at the course for $10. Sign up sheets in the Gathering Space. Deadline for sign up is Monday September 9. Peace and blessings to you and your loved ones!
